They have based it on vintage fashion from the 1940’s, the dress features gathered bust detail, a paneled midriff and skirt, flattering elbow length sleeves and lovely contrast cuffs. Add three decorative covered buttons down the centre front for an extra bit of interest.
The 1940’s Tea Dress is one for intermediate sewers. It’s best to have some experience working with lightweight drapey fabric before you tackle this pattern.
The pattern contains full instructions with beautifully illustrated diagrams to help you along.
Materials required: a drapey woven fabric such as a crepe, georgette or rayon. You will also need a 22 inch invisible zip.
